The pledge

Over the last few months I have had the most amazing opportunity to be with a lot of truly inspiring humans. Some that are well known like Samuel Johnson and Brene Brown, but others from within my own family, team (work family), and my friends.

I start each day feeling overwhelmed by the daily grind of getting my children ready for school, meticulously planning each task that must be completed so that I can move closer to my goals, and wondering how in the hell I’m going to fit everything into the limited available hours that we are given.

I have always enjoyed the work that I do, but lately I have found a new love, passion and drive for Real Estate. It doesn’t feel like ‘a job’ to me, but rather that I’m part of something important, something special. I meet so many amazing people, that are living extraordinary lives. I get to hear their stories (some good & some sad), learn of their dreams, and then set my mission to find the perfect home so they can continue the story of their lives. From the young couple searching for their ‘perfect’ first home, to the bitter ‘soon to be divorced’ looking to sever ties, or the distraught recently widowed wife or husband looking to downsize to a ‘more affordable’ home; I get to be part of that journey, and I hope that I make things a little easier for them. Some days are an emotional roller-coaster, but I love what I do.

I am both grateful and blessed for the opportunities to learn, share, cry, and love on a daily basis. In the words of Brene Brown “There is no Vulnerability without courage”.

The following is my pledge to myself, to those that are no longer here, and those that are suffering still:

In an environment filled with volatility, uncertainty, and insecurity I wish to live a life filled with creativity, productivity, prosperity, and most importantly with passion. To be a giver and not just a taker; a giver of love, a giver of good vibes, and a giver of strength. Each day I promise myself that the pain of my imperfect past will not hinder the glory of my fabulous future. I believe I am exactly were I need to be to receive the growth I need. The challenges I have encountered and endured, have been the perfect preparation to make me the person I am now and the person I will become.

I love the following words from Marcus Aurelius, Roman Emperor – “Do not live as if you have ten thousand years left. Your fate hangs over you. While you are still living, while you still exist on this Earth, strive to become a genuinely great person.”

Finally, wake up in the morning and feel one life isn’t time enough. Life is full of opportunities; we just have to go out and get them.

Forever grateful Nic xx
